it will wash but not spin out the water.

I have had a repair guy try 3 different replacement parts to fix this. No luck yet. I am about to give up and just get a new machine. more...
You either have to change the whole lock assembly, or just fix the catch magnet which might be malfunctioning.
In parts shouldn't be more than 100$.

without knowing the make there are 3 parts that could be at fault
1)has the motor got carbon brushes these u will find by looking for a wire going to each sides more...

you need a special spanner wrench to remove the bearing/seal. you could try ordering from your parts dealer. my advice is to replace the machine, because you'll end up calling a tech and it'll cost you the price of a new more...
