it might be due to your cable operator giving important message.
please reset tunning once or auto tune.
give service code for opening menu.

sound as the picture is fine. the interference is a crackling noise& tv is old

2 so in that case tunning in sound section is disturb get it tnnned.
3 any components in sound section has done defective(SIF)SECTION.

your problem is in the system control section of your tv.
please check
1 supply to systemcontrol ic or loose contact.
2 supply or loose contact in tunning ckt of tuner (33v zener line)
3 aft ckt loose or defrctive.
4 loose button on remote &front panel of tv.
5 memory ic.
6 system contro ic.

not sure about the model but it has remute control and mono sound output. indeed the tv had some problem before that was by tunning the sound vey up the noise would be high on the output. recently regardless the high noise it was tune to the highest possible more...
