click Custom Settings > decrease the dpi setting to 200 or 150. Try to scan again. You may also use third party scan softwares to decrease the scan file size if results are still too large for you

When I scan a document to PDF file, the file becomes very large. a 1 1/2 pg document becomes 48 MB. What is wrong? The scanning resolution may be set too high.

...scan the file to MS WORD or any other application that supports multiple pages... so u have it as one file... but if u want only pdf files, then u have to do a little work around like writing the MS ...

I scan all mine to my computer then select a file for them to go to. like my documents or set a seperate file up for it. also burn off to a cd for extra protection of having incase computer goes crazy
