by dry solder joints on the frame o/p IC.
Resolder all legs of frame chip.

with IC's you are going to have to go to the repair shop my friend. The crappy part is that the IC has a price tag of about $10.00 but a repair shop is going to nail you anywhere from $80.00-$120.00. Sorry for the bad news but it happens. more...

27" TV Just recently my Sylvania 27" tv, when turned on, only shows a thin line on the TV screen. Thank you :) how pricey would this be to fix? Or are we better off buying a new TV? Our warranty and MRA expired about a year more...

not a hook up problem. The problem is either a bad picture tube or a bad video output amplifier. Either one is a little pricey.
I just Googled this set and the cost of repair would excede the replacement cost.
