Sony Handycam DCR-DVD101 DVD Camcorder "preparing disk" Questions

Preparing To Open Cover" but it doesnt open and goes back to "Disk Access" which again fails to read and says "Format Error" and "Preparing To Open Cover" and so on and so on! Any ideas?! I am curious
