set the master to master and set this drive to slave....normally those settings are on the drive itself. Fairly simple if you have a pin jumper, a big magnifying glass and small fingers....tweezers work best. Hope it helps...Tango...

hi if you hard drive new you patation with xp booteble cd... conect your hard drive ide port 40pins then ide port bule part conect motherboard ....other part conect hard drive then jumper setting conect right 6 pins ..2pins conect 1st point it call ...

if i already have 2 hdds in one as master and one as slave and this HDD shows on it a pic with 4 pins one pic having jumper on the 2 on the right which says "Limit to 1.5 Gb/s operation" and the other without any jumper says ...

if it don't work then, the HD is bad. try another socket on the board. if not working then. you can get a 3 pin to 4 pin fan adapter to power the fan from the power supply. if still no spinning, the fan is dead....

as a slave drive to your C drive. If it doesn't work, nothing will go wrong or hurt your system. Make sure the rear pins are set to slave or drive 2. It will attach to your C drive easily.If you have any questions, let me know....
