error message given is neither source drive not ready nor target drive not ready,what could be the problem? Has it ever worked properly? What recording software are you using to attempt burning?

DVD need to be made in FXP mode or below. But remember if you have a selection of recordings on your SD/HD and just one is in MXP mode, you will get the error 'Operation cancelled'. Just as a sidenote
