Kidde DC Voice-Alert CO and Smoke Alarm "changed batteries alarm low" Questions

i changed the battery in my smoke alarm and it is still chirping. What can the problem be? Use a quality battery duracell or energizer. Not ones from the dollar store. Chirping means low battery.
