the button in but does not stay running when i let go. bottom line i have to keep my hand on the start button to keep it running you will need to replace the start button.That will correct the problem

keep running It may be the centrifugal switch on the motor. The push button starts the motor and as the motor spins up to speed the centrifugal switch closes to keep the motor running. Hope this helps
