On the left side (driver's side if hooked to tow vehicle) right under the rear most window. Here is a video with a good walk around showing connections and features. Something the dealer should do with you when you buy any RV (assuming you buy it new)

2014 Coachmen Elite 40'. Water system was drained for the winter. We can not get fresh water into the holding tank. It was done at a dealer, but they are not open. It will take city water.

Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the problem:
1. Check the Water Pump:
- Make sure the water pump is turned on and functioning correctly. The water pump is responsible for drawing fresh water into the holding tank from an external source.
- Check for any visible signs of damage or blockages in the water pump system.
2. Verify the Tank Fill Valve Position:
- Ensure that the tank fill valve is in the correct position to allow water to flow into the holding tank. The valve may need to be switched from the city water connection to the tank fill position.
3. Inspect the Water Inlet:
- Check the water inlet connection where you fill the fresh water tank. Make sure there are no obstructions or kinks in the hose that could be preventing water from entering the tank.
- If there is a water filter in the system, check if it is clogged and needs to be replaced or cleaned.
4. Test the Gravity Fill System:
- If your RV has a gravity fill system for the fresh water tank, try filling the tank using this method. Pour water directly into the gravity fill port and monitor the tank level to see if the water is entering the tank.
5. Consult the RV Manual:
- Refer to the owner's manual of your Coachmen Elite RV for specific instructions on filling the fresh water tank and troubleshooting water system issues.
I good luck

Can you get water in LP lines when filling RV w/ propane? Frig quit on propane, worked on electric. Had filled w/ propane two days earlier. mechanic found oily water in line; range still worked.

Yes water can do compensation build up in your propane tank. Some tanks have a drain pit on bottom reclaim propane and open the pit. If your does reclaim the propane and drain tank. If not reclaim propane and remove tank then remove filler valve turn tank over drain access water leave tank up side down over night. Put fill valve back on and mount tank. After lines are back on turn stove on leave on for 48 hours. Turn valves off and refill tank. Best of luck.

Why is fresh water tank filling up when hooked up to city water?

Many RVs have the plumbing to fill the fresh water tank from the city water hook up. This valve is usually near the city water hook up and labeling is similar to "city water" and "tank fill". Another anomaly from leaving the valve in the "tank fill" position is that, when not connected to city water, the on board pump may run continuously and the water volume is very low.

What is the best way to winterize a 2013 cougar high country travel trailer

Pull bottom plug out of hot water heater tank let all water drain. Then open all water tank drain valves and be sure your RV is tilted so it will drain towards the valve. Go in RV access water heater valves put it in bypass so no antifreeze can enter water heater tank. Pump RV antifreeze with hose provided into all water lines throughout RV by turning on your main water pump after you have stuck the bypass hose in a new and full antifreeze bottle, then flush toilet until red antifreeze comes out. Open all faucets one at a time until red antifreeze comes out. I use 3 gal but some only use one, the more the better itā€™s cheap at Walmart. Donā€™t forget to run outside shower until red antifreeze comes out also, very important or it will crack in the cold. Finally make sure black and grey tanks are empty and flushed at your last camp trip before winterizing. Pour antifreeze in toilet and all drains making sure first that black and grey tank shut off valves are pushed in and closed. Get a quality cover and store RV, it makes a huge difference on protecting roof and roofs lap sealant! All RV antifreeze is non toxic and you just drain it all at your first camp stop after winter! Note: donā€™t forget to put water heater ionizer drain plug back in wrapped with new white Teflon tape and take water heater valves out of bypass! Draw a diagram of regular mode and winter bypass mode so you donā€™t forget especially hot and cold water heater blender valve between the two MUST be shut off after you unwinterize
or you will cool your hot water unwanted and have no hot water to use! Happy Camping folks!

When connecting the water to the city water connection it filled my fresh water tank. Is that normal?

Probable cause would be a leaking check valve in the pump.

On the RV the city water and discharge from the fresh water pump are tied together. When on city water the discharge of the pump will have city water pressure on it. If the internal check valve on the pump is leaking, water will flow through the pump backwards and into your fresh water tank.

Is there a valve to open on the fresh water tank when using it?

Yes. Open the outside panel, usually located close to or beside the city water inlet. Should be a diagram showing "normal", "tank fill" and "winterize." Use "fill" to fill the tank. Water will run out the underneath drain when full. I recommend a water pressure limiter just in case the city water pressure is excessive. You can rupture a line or the tank if too high. Rare, but it does happen.

Flip the valves to "normal" to use the city water. If boondocking, the pump will pull from the fresh water tank directly. No need ot change anything.

When hook up city water to rv it shoots out vent

It is likely one of two things, either your RV has a waterline to your fresh water tank that allows you to fill that tank when you are hooked to City water, or the check valve on your water pump is bad and it is allowing city water to fill your fresh water tank. Make sure your freshwater tank is empty, have someone turn the city water on while you watch the freshwater tank... you should be able to see where it is filling from....if it is filling from the water line that run to the water pump, the check valve is bad, if it is filling from a city water fill line, locate the valve on that line and close it. If it is indeed the water pump check valve...you can either replace the pump, or add a cheap inline check valve, like a sharkbite check valve.. they run like 12 to 15 dollars.. install in seconds....you just cut the pex pipe then shove the ends into each end of the check valve.
