On heating or cooling the air conditioner trips the circuit breaker when turning on
Looks like fuse is to light turn everything off then try! circuit breaker 10 amps? Air con use a lot of power to start up!
Want to install split unit aircon in my caravan but see it only has a 16amp breaker, would this be able to run fridge, kettle and aircon at the same time?
Fan motor is shorted out
My first guess would be that the compressor has seized. If not the compressor seizing, then I would look for a short to ground in the wiring. If you pull the cover of the AC you will most likely find that the compressor motor is plugged into a receptacle. If you can unplug or otherwise disconnect the compressor motor from its' power source and activate the thermostat to run and the circuit breaker does not trip, it is the compressor motor. If the circuit breaker trips, then it's in the wiring.

moter or compresser pulling to many amps on start up you can purchase a hard start kit and also you can ohm out blower moter you could also have a direct short althoug not likly
SOURCE: air conditioner will trip breaker when trying to cycle back on
The compressor motor , once warm is grounding out due to wear and is going bad.Have the compressor replace while it is still clean is cheeper and easier that doing it after a burn out, which will eventually happen,if the compressor is tripping the brreaker as I suspect..

you will need to access the unit and look for burnt/shorted wires on/at compressor. if not then the compressor is locked down/shorted and will need replaced Tim
