Could be a multitude of causes. Here are a few common ones.

Igniter electrode dirty or corroded.
Igniter misaligned.
Failed circuit board.
No power to furnace.
Time delay switch defective.
Sail switch defective.
Overheat switch open/defective.

2012 Rockwood 8288ws just purchased. When I turn the switch on for the water heater it cycles trying to ignite gas. I want to run electric only. What am I doing wrong?

1st Question - Can you verify that you actually have a Gas/Electic Waterheater? Most units are gas only. You may have to look at the unit and look for power cables.

2nd. Is power connected prior to turning on the water heater?

How to turn on water heater

This might not be much help, without more details, but there should be a valve inside the water heater panel (outside) you can open. Open the valve at the main propane tank also.

Make sure the water tank is FULL before you fire it up. There should be a switch inside the coach somewhere to turn it on.

If it doesn't ignite immediately, you probably have air in the lines. Light the stove and let it burn for a minute, then try the hot water tank again. Might take a few tries to get it fired up.

What needs replaced on 2011 evergreen ever-lite 25RG travel trailor after submerged in river water up to floor for 12 hours

Depends on the construction of the floor. If it is the composite floor that is a layer of luan, Styrofoam and luan. Then the entire floor will need to be replaced. Heavy moisture will cause the glue to release and the floor will fail. The walls may also cause an issue if the water permeated them causing the insulation to get wet. Mold will begin to grow and could cause heath problems down the road.

How do you de-winterize 28DSBH

Connect the trailer to the city water supply, turn on the water and open each faucet until clean clear water is present. Don't forget the toilet and outside shower if equipped. Next reinstall the anode rod (suburban) or drain plug (atwood) into the water heater. Go to the back side of the water heater and close the valve on the pipe that connects the cold (bottom line into water heater) and hot (upper line out of the water heater) and then open the bottom cold water line valve and, if equipped, the upper hot water valve. This will fill the water heater. Open the hot water valve at the kitchen faucet. When the water flow is steady the water heater is full and ready for use. If the unit is equipped with a water filer, after all is flushed out, turn the water off and remove the filter housing. Install a new filter and re-secure the housing and turn the water back on. If you are using the fresh water pump, it is possible that the winterizing valve for the pump was left open. If so, close that valve which will divert the pump back to drawing from the tank.

Rockwood trailer manual

Contact the manufacturer of the coach for their owner's manual. However, each appliance will have a separate owner's manual form its perspective manufacturer, i.e., Water Heater = Suburban, A/C = Dometic, Refrigerator = Norcold, etc.. There will not be a diagram of electrical or plumbing as a majority of the RV manufacturers do not publish that information. The only thing that I can think of that would cause the TV to reset when the Air Conditioner comes on is if the AC is remote controlled you may have a frequency conflict. It is not typical for the AC to share an electrical circuit with the TV but if that is the case here then the TV may be getting shut down because the AC is drawing too many amps on startup for the TV to continue to function. Turn the breaker off to the AC and see if the TV shuts down also. If it does then you will need to get the issue corrected.

Water tank says empty but it is full

Do you have a tank heater on the tank? If not, you may want to get one to prevent the tank from freezing and busting. Next, there is a small diode inline and it may have failed which will give a false reading.

Water heater is not lighting

Make sure that the burner tube is clean and free of debris and also the exhaust tube is clean and clear. Spiders and mudauber nests will disturb the airflow and prevent operation. If there is no flame at all make sure that you have LP gas and that it is turned on and that you have spark ignition. If not you may have a bad valve or a bad board.

Water heater is not lighting

Propane is on and sufficient amount in tank? Do you hear any clicking as in trying to ignite when started? There will be a short delay (min or 2 ) before it tries to ignite after blower starts.
