toaster

A toaster is a small kitchen appliance that toasts slice of bread, bagels, and other bread products. It sits on your kitchen counter. They usually have different settings depending on how light or dark you like your toast, if you're toasting a different type of food (like a bagel), etc. I have a Kitchenaid one, and it's great--lots of different settings. There are also toaster ovens, which look like little mini-ovens that sit on your countertop. These have trays, just like a regular oven, which makes them more versatile, and the different options and settings are more than a regular upright toaster. Toaster ovens are usually also much bigger. Most toasters can toast two slices of bread at a time, sometimes four.
