Sony makes great point and shoot cameras for beginners. It's an easy to use camera that looks beautiful. Large LCD screen makes it easy to preview your photo.

I like the Cyber-shot because of it's fast response when you push the button to take a picture. Some of the more expensive camera's are a lot slower and by the time the shutter responds, the object has moved, especially if you are trying to capture a baby shot. With the Sony it is instant response, the shutter response rate and the refresh rate (the time it takes to be ready for another picture) are the main things to look for. Also unless you plan on printing your pictures, a 1.3 megapixal is sufficient because it 1.3 is higher than most monitors will support. If you plan on having large photos like 8x10 then a 5 megapixel is good enough. Don't think that more meg makes a better camera, it is all the above things combined. I personally think that shutter response is the most important, then refresh rate, and then the megapixal, again keeping in mind what you are planning to do with the photo's.

My parents loved this camera and took it with them on their last trip to Europe! They were able to unload the pictures to their computer without any help from me.

This is a great camera that I gave to my parents for Christmas. It was really easy for them to learn how to use and was their first digital camera. I highly recommend it as a gift!

1) Great camera!! I got this camera for my birthday and it has taken really great pictures. I was a little worried because it was so small, but my pictures have NOT been blurry?this used to be a real problem for me.
