Do you recommend the Canon Digital Rebel XT / EOS 350D...?

While there are newer Rebel series digital cameras out there, this one still cuts the mustard. It is a great entry-level digital SLR. Has a great full auto feature for those with no photography experience and plenty of advanced features as well. I had mine for 6 years and took 40,000 photos with it before my wife dropped it and it died. I suspect you can pick one up used or refurbished for under $400 and it is worth it.

Very easy to use. Really quite and gets fantastic batery life. Really quick shutter.

The price might look a little steep, but it is completely worth it for serious amateur photographers. . This is a good first step for people looking to go beyond point and shoot cameras.
