Having had the Win xp pro for years now, I tried Vista and my mind is firm that I do prefer the win xp!!!

All around good software, comes in 32 bit and 64 bit and can use with a dos format for those programs that won't run on the other formats. reliable allows video captureing and editing and can use as a phone answering machine, has many features in the software for networking easy to use works with almost all software out there.

I recommend XP only in two main circumstances. firstly if it is an older machine. Secondly I recommend XP only if the software requirements exclude the use of other operating systems, for example a compatibility issue.
