Which Rear Projection Should I Buy ??

Hi
I am looking for a good Rear Projection tv, as big as possible, ideally i would want a HD Compatible set as i have an xbox 360, i have a budget of $1200, i have seen a samsung sp42q2HD for $850, i have read some posts and a lot of people say xbox 360 will not produce HD on the Samsung, i also noticed people saying they CAN use 480p, is 480p a version of HD or is it more comparable to a standard scart connection ??, also if anyone can help me out with maybe an alternative suggestion please let me know
