DVD VCR COMBO FOR OLDER TV

Parents looking for a simple dvd vcr combo for a console tv which is about 20+ years old.
They had a Sony SLV-D370P which worked till about a week ago now when they play back something they have recorded its all snowy and in slow motion.
I can't seem to find that model anywhere.
Needs to be as simple as possible
