Looking for a new video camera

I am definitely going to get a new digital camera for an upcoming trip but I am also thinking about getting a new video camera. I am looking for a camera that is pretty light that would fit in a tote bag or crowded backpack. I would like something that captures high-quality images and that does well when there is a limited amount of light (sunrise/sunset/nighttime). I would like to spend an average amount. Thank you.
