Yes Whirlpool is a very good brand. We have this window box (I think) in our apartment and it does a fantastic job. It works pretty quickly when you turn it on, which is nice, since I don't leave it on while we're at work and no one is home. There are some nice energy-saving features too. I also like the air filter function, which really seems to help a bit during allergy season. In general, Whirlpool makes good air conditioners.
