Saturns SL received the first major makeover in its brief history last year, and remains unchanged for 1997. That brief history, which began in the 80s when General Motors created Saturn as an autonomous subsidiary, has seen Saturn take a unique approach to many aspects of the automotive design processes, manufacturing, and marketing. With a focus on the ownership experience, Saturn promotes a sense of kinship between Saturn owners and demand for used Saturns remains high. The car features body-side panels made of a ding- and dent-resistant polymer material.
