Instead of just taking a coupe and lopping the top off, Chrysler engineers designed the Sebring Convertible as a convertible from the ground up. In fact, the Sebring Convertible has nothing but a name in common with the Sebring Coupe. Theyre built on entirely different platforms. (The Sebring Convertible is structurally derived from Chrysler Cirrus and Dodge Stratus platforms, while the 2000 Sebring Coupe and Dodge Avenger share their platforms with the Mitsubishi Galant.)
