Product Details
A second sport SVT variant and noise-reducing measures are 2003 additions for Fords smallest car. Focus comes as a 4-dr sedan, 4-dr wagon, or as hatchback with two or four doors. All have a 4-cyl engine with 110 hp in the entry-level LX and SE sedans, 170 hp in SVTs, and 130 in other models. SVTs are hatchbacks with a sport suspension and 17-inch wheels; for 03, a 4-dr model joins the existing 2-dr version. LX sedans, the ZX3, and SVTs come only with manual transmission, wagons only with automatic. Other models are available with either transmission. ABS is standard on the SVT, optional on other Focus models. Head-and-torso front side airbags are optional on all but the SVT. Traction control is optional for higher-line models, some of which also offer Fords AdvanceTrac antiskid system. Ford says increased sound-deadening measures make Focus quieter on the road.
