For 1999, Oldsmobile introduces the all new Alero. The Alero is available as a sedan and coupe, each in three trim levels: GX, GL, and GLS. Exterior design elements include crystal-clear lenses for headlamps and liquid crystal tail lamps, low-mounted dual air intakes, and fluted side sculpting. The interior features an import-like hand lever for the parking brake, a short gear shift, and high seat cushions. The center console stack is wrapped toward the driver to minimize the reach to radio and climate controls switches. The coupes feature rear seats that blend with the side panels to provide extra arm and elbow room. The uni-body features safety cage construction as well as dual air bags and side impact beams that deliver added protection.
