Product Details
New for 1997, the 318s get a minor facelift and All Season Traction becomes standard equipment on all models. Also new is BMWs Scheduled Maintenance Program, which includes all factory recommended periodic maintenance for the first three years or 36,000 miles at no extra cost. The manual transmission is newly equipped with a starter interlock that requires the clutch pedal to be depressed before the starter will operate and the power outside mirrors are now heated. The Service Interval Indicator recommends maintenance on the basis of actual car use rather than fixed mileage intervals. Standard features on all 318s include a theft deterrent system and exterior closing of windows from exterior door locks. Optional packages are also available.
