1996 BMW 318 Recommendations

The 1996 318 is available in four models - ti coupe, i sedan, iS coupe and iC convertible. New for 1996, all 318s receive a new 1.9-liter 138 hp 4-cylinder engine which increases the torque output from 129 to 133 lb.-ft. Also new (except for the ti) is automatic climate control with separate left/right temperature settings and microfiltered ventilation. The engines ignition and fuel-injection system require no routine service except periodic spark plug replacements. The Service Interval Indicator recommends maintenance on the basis of actual car use rather than fixed mileage intervals. Standard features on all 318s include dual power outside mirrors and exterior closing of windows from exterior door locks. Optional packages are also available
