The Compaq Presario SR1010Z is a solid performer, and it's the only Windows-based system in the midrange roundup that's ready for 64-bit computing with the Athlon 64 3200+ processor. But it's also one of only three systems here to exclude a recordable DVD drive. (The others are the Apple eMac and HP Pavilion a750y.) This is a puzzling omission, considering the reasonable prices of such drives.
