TLZ10 is a midrange tape drive designed for file and print servers, application servers, workstations, and data centers. It competes with Quarter Inch Cartridge (QIC) 8 mm drives, and 4 mm DAT subsystems. DAT technology is superior in capacity and has a lower cost per MB than QIC. The DDS-3 compliant TLZ10 tape drive is over 50 percent faster than the TLZ09 DDS-2 (Digital Data Storage) drive. It has a transfer rate of 1.18 MB per second native and 2.36 MB per second compressed. With up to 12 GB of uncompressed capacity, it is ideal for unattended backup and archiving applications.
