The Ultra3 I/O Module Upgrade Kit allows the Compaq StorageWorks Enclosure 4200 Family to be upgraded to Ultra3 performance in less then five minutes. The I/O module is warm-swappable; the power can ramain on, but all I/O operations must be stopped to ensure no data is lost or corrupted during the swap. In addition to the upgradability, the Ultra2/Ultra3 mix and match compatibility of the StorageWorks Enclosure 4200 allows technology transitions to the next generation SCSI protocol to be simple and smooth without disrupting critical business environments. Ultra2 devices will still transfer data at 80MB/s, but the Ultra3 devices will transfer data at 160MB/s.
