The ASTELE 102MN is a Maksutov Newtonian with a built-in finder (US Pat.# 6,172,806 B1). The finder objective lens is attached to the telescope's meniscus corrector by a ultra-precision rotating housing. This housing allows rotation between the telescope and the finder. Whatever eyepiece you're using at the time is your finder eyepiece. So, you can have a low-power finder or a high-power finder depending on which eyepiece you have in the ASTELE 102MN. When you want to view through the telescope, you rotate the housing 180??, and vice versa for the finder. When you're doing photography, (35 mm or CCD), you can photograph through the finder before or after you take an image of your subject. This will give you a wide-field perspective of the area you're photographing.Another great thing about the ASTELE 102MN is its optics.
