Product Details
DIGITAL's DECpacketprobe provides RMON probes for Ethernet and Token Ring networks. The DECpacketprobe 90 is the smallest performance monitoring probe in the industry. As part of the modular DEChub family, DECpacketprobe can be used in the hub, or attached in standalone mode to an existing LAN (using an external power supply). The DECpacketprobe supports all groups of the widely accepted RMON SNMP. ??The DECpacketprobe 90 is for Ethernet networks. Because the DECpacketprobes support SNMP over SLIP out-of-band, it allows for the collection of data from the probe even if the rest of the network is down. A remote console utility, Nslogin, comes with clearVISN RMON Manager for remote configurability of the DECpacketprobe. BOOTP support allows the probe's IP address to be easily and automatically changed from a server. TFTP support allows software updates to be downloaded to the probes. This can be done in-band or through the out-of-band port over SLIP.
