Product Details
The Coax/Twinax Adapter for SCS is a 32-bit PCI-based option that is installed in a slot in the printer. The Coax/Twinax Adapter for SCS provides the SNA Character String (SCS) data stream and either a twinaxial or coaxial connection for Lexmark and Optra printers. For the coax attachment, DSC/DSE data streams are also supported. With this option installed, the printer will emulate an IBM host-workstation printer and print from applications running on AS/400 or System/390 computer. The Coax/Twinax Adapter for SCS automatically detects the type of cable - either coax or twinax - that is being used to connect the printer to its IBM host. What's more, if the printer is connected to a network, Lexmark's SmartSwitch auto-emulation sensing technology will automatically switch the printer to the right language for each incoming document, whether it's with IPDS, PostScript or PCL 6 emulation.
