What kind of transmission oil should I use for a FXSTD 2000

You might be able to tell by the sound, otherwise the transmission may have to come apart to do so. What sounds do you get and when and how do they cahnge etc if they chnage with speed etdc.

Hi, Anonymous and the usual suspects are:
1. Oil tank/system overfilled.
2. Faulty breather valve.
3. Engine breather hose bent, pinched, kinked etc.
4. Air filter has too much "pre-oil".
5. Crankshaft seal failure allowing transmission fluid to migrate.
6. Blow by drain tube cracked/split or filled to capacity.

The transmission oil type for Audi A4 MY 2000 with manual gearbox is:
Synthetic oil SAE 75 W 90, part number G 052 145 S2 (1 liter).

Fill the transmission with 20-24 oz. (590-710 ml) of
transmission lubricant or until the lubricant level on the
dipstick of the filler plug is at the F(ULL) mark with the
motorcycle in a level, upright position and the filler plug
resting on the threads.
Use only Harley-Davidson FORMULA+ TRANSMISSION
AND PRIMARY CHAINCASE LUBRICANT, Part
No. 99851-05 (quart).
6. Install the transmission filler plug/dipstick in the clutch
release cover. Tighten the plug to 25-75 in-lbs (2.8-8.5
Nm).
