I need to determine if exsisting in tank fuel pump is good. I have the tanked dropped and fuel pump out. My question is how can I tell if the old pump is still good? My blazer would run before, I thought I had an electrical or steering column problem, like a ghost, after a rain, slight moisture in the air. It would not start, I would go back 6 to 8 hours later, it would fire right up. Until it quit for good. I am getting fire, if I pour gas down the throat it wants to start, but will not stay running. My mechanic friend says it wasn't getting gas to the carb. I am glad I dropped the tank to investigate, as I found several pin holes in the tank. which I have fixed. If not fuel pump, any ideas?????

Ground the motor (electrically) to the frame of your Blazer the apply some 12v power (or 13v) to see if 'she' hums or pumps for that matter. (Some will hum but not pump a thing of course). I'm guessing you have an older K-5 or something. There's a filter between the fuel line and carb if nobody ever showed you that one (on the older ones with 350's 4bbl's anyway).

2000 grandam se fuel pump location. need to change w/outy dropping tank. is this possible?

Sorry, the fuel pump is located in the fuel tank, you have to drop the tank to RnR the pump. You can try and run an inline pump but it is not recommended due to being reduced from pulling fuel through the old pump and sock filter inside the tank. hope this helps Fix ya up...

Do i need to drop the fuel tank in my 1991 toyota corolla to replace the fuel pump?

Unless there is an access panel above the fuel pump, yes you will have to drop the fuel tank. Look at the location of the fuel tank and how that corresponds to the vehicle. This will tell you where to look for an access panel. If you must drop the tank, then siphon as much fuel as possible out of the tank before removing it. You can purchase a very inexpensive hand pump at most auto parts stores.

My f350 1997 will not run on the rear tank . how do i go about finding what the problem is?

well, first, to find out if its the in tank fuel pump or the tank selector valve, the cheapest and probable easiest thing to do is find the selector valve under the truck and switch the incoming fuel lines. front tank to rear tank inlet, and vice versa. If the truck still doesnt run, you either have an electrical delivery problem to the in tank fuel pump or a bad fuel pump. If after switching the lines, it does run, then you need a new selector valve

Need to determine where the fuel filter is located. Also, how to get to and possibly replace the fuel pump.

To remove the fuel pump, you need to either drop the fuel tank or remove the bed. The pump is in the fuel tank. Personally, I remove the bed, it is easier than dropping the tank, and, more often than not, the tank bolts breal off, or you damage the metal lines on the sending unit. Fuel filter? I NEVER change them unless the fuel is contaminated. It is in the engine compartment; down low. Note that if you DO change the filter, be prepared to replace your fuel lines. The filter metal and the line metal are slightly dis-similar, and "galding" is always possible. That being said, if you take the filter off of the line, 99 times out of 100 the threads on the line will stay on the filter. Not good.
