Then retighten the bolt on the back of the swing arm. Happy Riding

The procedure is the same for the 2004 and the 1999 VFR 800. You just have to rotate the round piece inside the swing arm(bearing holder). The axle does not go through the middle of the bearing holder but is offset to one side. When you rotate the inner swing arm bearing holder assembly you can tighten or loosen the chain by rotating the axle forward or backward.

05 vfr intercepter 800 abs. The FI light came on the way to work and on the way back it flashed two times went off for about 1 maybe 2 sec. Then repeated. What's she telling me?

It is telling you the Fuel Injection system sensors have detected a problem. Minorproblems will still let the bike run. Major problems will not let the bike start. Ride to a Honda dealer and let them hook up a code reader. The reader will show what the sensors have detected. Now determine if you want to fix it or have the dealer fix it, based on what the problem is. Please rate my answer.

How do i tighten the chain on my 2002 vfr800 vtech, it seems a bit loose and i can hear it dragging

Set the bike on its center stand, then loosen the rear axle by removing cotter pin from hex nut and loosening the nut. There are two adjustment bolts, with lock nuts - one on each side of the rear axle. They are easily work with from the rear of the bike. Loosen the lock nuts and turn the adjustment bolts clockwise. this will draw the rear axle (wheel) backwards - tightening the chain. Take care to turn each side the same amount, so the rear wheel remains straight. Usually the flex in the chain should be about a quarter inch. After adjusting, tighten lock nuts to hold position of rear axle and tighten the axle nut, replace cotter pin.

Bike tipped over and now wont start. 1998 honda intercepter .

first make sure bike is in upright position then turn key off then back on and try to start the bike. sometimes you have to turn the key on,off,on,off,on and start the bike. this will reset you tilt sensor ( properly known as lean angle sensor). if the bike still doesn't start you probably need a new tilt sensor unless you bypass it.
