Continued from: Electrical Problem with My 98 Fatboy

I replaced one relay underneath the seat, but the bike still has the same problems consisting of no speedometer, no brakelights, no horn, and no blinkers. Also I found a ground wire that was broken and I fixed that. In addition, whenever I turn the bike on to ignition position, I here a clicking noise come from one of the fuses. However, when I tested the fuses with a TEST LIGHT they were fine.

    Thank you,

    Brad

If you have the electric speedo, then it's one problem. There is a relay that all three of these go through in order to work. I'll bet you popped the relay. I don't know exactly where the relay is, but your local dealer can give you the location. If you have the manual speedo, the it's two probs. First, the cable to the speedo gear on the front hub has most likely pulled out a bit, and second, the same relay as before, only the speedo isn't routed through it.

Is there a bare wire around the fuse that is causing the clicking? If not, I would go ahead and replace it, just to be safe. Also, does this have the electric speedo?

This still sounds like a relay problem, but it's odd that you can't find it. You might try taking a look inside the hand controls, it could also be that a wire has come loose or a switch is hung up and canceling everything out.

My Toyota Corolla 2005 speedometer not working and my gear is not selecting

There could be several possible reasons why your gear is not selecting and your speedometer is not working in your Toyota Corolla 2005. Here are a few possible causes:
  1. The gear shift cable may be disconnected or damaged. The gear shift cable connects the gear shift lever to the transmission, so if it is damaged or disconnected, it may cause problems with selecting gears.
  2. The transmission itself may be damaged. If the transmission is damaged, it may cause issues with selecting gears and may also affect the operation of the speedometer.
  3. The speedometer cable may be damaged or disconnected. The speedometer cable connects the transmission to the speedometer, so if it is damaged or disconnected, it may cause issues with the speedometer.
  4. There may be a problem with the vehicle's wiring or electrical system. If there is a problem with the wiring or electrical system, it could cause issues with the gear selection and speedometer.
To accurately diagnose and fix these issues, it will be necessary to have the vehicle inspected by a mechanic. They will be able to perform diagnostic tests and determine the root cause of the problem.

The speedometer does not work

On older cars there was a cable that ran to the speedometer and it was often necessary to replace the cable. Newer cars are electronic and part of the computer body module computer. According to Buzzle.com: " Cars produced after 1990 are usually equipped with speed sensors, which may crash and cease to transmit speed readings to the speedometer. A more serious problem could be a faulty speedometer head, which needs expert diagnosis.
Read more at Buzzle: http://www.buzzle.com/articles/speedometer-not-working-properly.html " You will find the speed sensor behind the engine, above the trans-axle.
Remove the connecting hose, air cleaner and electrical connector from above the sensor.
With help of a 10 mm socket, remove bolts keeping the sensor in place. Then, twist the sensor to take it out.
Attach a new O-ring to the sensor and clean the sensor flange and exterior sensor housing before re-installation.
Fix the new sensor in place and tighten bolts around it. Reattach the hose, air cleaner and electrical connector on to the sensor.

Do you have the security system on your Dyna? What side of the bike hit the ground? I would start by looking at any obvious areas that received damage.

Does the engine start and run, or does it try to start, but won't keep running?

If you have the security system, it may need to be put on the computer at the H-D shop and be reprogramed. If the bike hit the ground hard, the module may need replaced.

If you received damage to the controls on the handle bars, I would check for wiring damage in that area.

Everything you mention as not working is electrical, and, if you have the security system, it all runs through there.

I find that the owners manual helps some, but sometimes it takes a phone call to a shop.

Lay a piece of carpet on the ground on the right side of the bike. Lay the bike over on the "crash bars" on the right side. Best if the fuel tank is not full. Remove tire.

Assuming that the display is working, have you tried adjusting the sensor or magnet so that they are close together? This model doesn't have a very good reputation for lasting based on online reviews. Good luck!
