Question about john deere bulldozer that has a radio control 9.6v rechargeable Ni-cd battery pack 800mAh. how long does it need to totally charge?

a century battery such as a NZ70ALS is a 12V HD battery should be strong enough for BIG diesels or for this tractor, or order a 24V if 24V system from local garage or battery supplier.

The battery compartment can be opened from the bottom. There are 2 AAA rechargeables batteries NiMH 800mAh. you have to remove first the bobbin who do the wireless charge. Good luck

Are you using rechargeable Ni-Cad batteries?

If so, buy Li-ion Batteries, Ni-cads have a memory and will recharge from last charge only, rather than fully charge.

Lithium Ion Li-ion batteries don't have memory issues, and therefore will recharge fully.

These are available as rechargeable types so, look for the rechargeable types.

It would seem that your battery pack is Ni-Cad, if so, these have a memory, this means they will only recharge from the last top-up, rather than complete charge.

You need to completely drain the battery pack until it is flat, as in no charge left.

Otherwise, buy replacement Lithium Iron (Li-On) battery pack from Uniden or on ebay, these don't have that memory effect the Ni-Cads do, so you know you won't have these problems again.

If it's a really good radio, then replace the battery pack with really good one.

The two battery types are completely interchangeable. Set the charger for NiCd and the NiMH will charge faster and last longer than the NiCds did.

never charge batteries that long usually only 3to5 hours if ni-cd . most batteries last 3 or 4 years . totally discharge pack and try to charge again . if nothing buy new battery pack

What you need is at the VERY least is a Ni-Cd battery pack with 600mA/hr rating. We have an HH-300, with a configuration of 4AAx2.

Interstate Batteries has the BEST price I could find, although when we bought the HH-300, I sent it to SiTex for a new battery AND a tune-up which cost around $100.

Do NOT forget that these radios are wired center pin negative! (Don't ask how I found this out...)

You might contact Midland Radio Corp to see if they have a fix for your problem. If I had to give an educated guess I would say the batteries need jump started (which sometimes happens when they are new and too low of charge; or there is a problem where they contact the charger and they are not receiving a full charge; or they are defective. I am sure the factory would be happy to assist you in solving the issue.
