Our 2001 intruder 1500 loses clutch pressure. We have changed the fluid and bled the system with no luck. When stopped at a light with the clutch held in the bike creeps forward. You have to pull the clutch handle several times to release the clutch. Any suggestions? Thanks! Rich

You have air in the clutch system. You need to completely bleed the clutch hydrolic system. You could have a leak at the clutch handle or clutch cylinder that is letting air into the system. Check all the connections, hoses, and seals for deterioration.

Hello and welcome to FixYa!

Looks like that the clutch itself is worn out that's why you're having a hard time. I strongly suggest that you check the clutch and have it replaced.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

I have a Suzuki VL1500 Intruder after about 100 miles the cluch fails, once the engine has cooled the cluch is restored, then its repeated

Bleed the clutch's hydraulic system fully ... you must remove all air from/in your lines / cylinders / actuators... ect ect use a high quality dot 3 or dot 4 synthetic hydraulic fluid as per manufacturer's recommendations.... good luck if this does not correct issue then a fresh clutch pack may be in order but bleed system fully before replacement of any components if you have never bled a hydraulic system before then review the many videos of this operation on youtube watch a couple of them to fully understand how to bleed a clutch....Best of luck to you.

I have a 1999 suzuki intruder 1500 and i need to add fluid for my clutch but i don't know what i should fill it with. could you please tell me?

Hi and welcome to the site,

The clutch uses the same type of fluid, DOT 4 brake fluid, as used in the brakes.

Good luck and thank you for asking.

I have a 1986 Suzuki Intruder VS700 - after I ride for about 10 to 15 miles the clutch lever loses compression and I can't shift gears. If I let it stand for about twenty minutes the lever regains enough...

You could change the fluid, but I'd pay more attention to bleeding the system a few times.

It also sounds like the clutch slave cylinder seals are worn/perished. You might need to look into having these replaced, as it could be allowing the clutch to seep fluid stopping the hydraulic (vacuum) affect.

Vote for me if this helps, thanks.

95 suzuki intruder, clutch oil was thick and very low, bled out system, re filled and bled extensively and doesn't have any pressure. Added .3 fluid per manual, clear fluid came out bleeder jet, but won't...

Likely the clutch master cylinder on the handlebar needs rebuilding--a check valve or piston cup is bypassing fluid when pressure tries to build up. If it was the slave cylinder, it would probably be leaking fluid. Same with the coupling hose.
