I have a 1999 fat boy Harley davidson that I need to replace the rear brakes. I don't know how the spring goes back on there Help???

To describe that is almost impossible. How about a picture. Go to http://www.bikebandit.com and look up your bike and find the rear brake. http://www.bikebandit.com/2002-harley-davidson-softail-fat-boy-flstf/o/m15159#sch608185 The sping goes down over the pads and the two pins push in and hold it down. This keeps the pads from rattling.

Did the original pads have anti rattle springs attached to them? If they did, you should have transferred them onto the new pads. The rattling isn't dangerous by any means, but it can be annoying.

I doubt it. The Fat Boy is a member of the Softail family. In 1999, the Softails were running Evolution engines. They didnt' go to the TC-88B engine until 2000 and that required a frame change. I don't think it will fit but you never really know until you try it.

diagram wont help buy a book they'll tell you which pad goes where that "is" your prob right

There should be a hose that come off one rear corner of the oil tank, it either goes straight down to the frame with a plug directly underneath (has oil o'ring #11105). It could also just be a line that is attached to the swing arm with a hose plug in it and a funny spring clamp holding the plug in the hose. I think 2003 is the first solution though.
