SOURCE: Won't stay runing when I twist the throttle

I Also have a 600 hurricane, and mine did the same thing, so if i were you id check the fuel lines going from the tank to the fuel pump,

mine would do the same, idle, then die

i found my line going from tank to fuel pump was cracked, so there was an air leak going on, i was back to full strength as soon as i replaced the fuel line

SOURCE: my bike idles up and then down all by itself upon

The idle up and down can mean there is an air leak as this is a symptom of running lean.
Check the fuel flows freely out of the fuel tap
Check the carb to cover is not coming loose.
Check all the jets in the carb are seated correctly, and not loose and make sure it is clean
Check the inlet manifold and carb clamps

When is a valve adjustment due on a 06 R1

rate my post for perfect solution
Instructions
    • 1 Open the choke by pulling the choke lever on the left handlebar control toward you. Set the bike on its kickstand, put it in "Neutral" and start it up. Allow the Road Star to warm up for about 10 minutes before continuing with the adjustment procedure.
    • 2 Locate the idle adjustment screw on left side of the bike just below the rider's seat. Twist the adjuster screw clockwise one full turn. This will ensure the bike stays alive so you can adjust it to the proper setting.
    • 3 Close the choke lever and listen to the engine carefully. Twist the idle adjustment screw slowly counterclockwise. You should hear the engine speed start to slow.
    • 4 Twist the idle screw counterclockwise until you hear the engine start to sputter and die. When this happens, stop and turn the screw one half turn clockwise. Your bike should now be idling at the correct speed.

IDLE ENGINE SPEED RACING WHEN STOPPED

The idle speed is controlled via a servo motor and the engine management computer. It will idle fast when the engine is cold and first started.

If the idle speed is much higher than 1000RPM when the engine is warm, I would check for sticking throttle cables especially if you have added bar backs or bar risers. Check the throttle twist grip to make sure it is free and snaps back when released. These sometimes get sticky especially if the bike was dropped or dirt has accumulated under the throttle tube. Usually a high idle on a K1200RS is caused by some mechanical problem with the throttle or cruise control (if your bike has cruise)

Hope this helps

I adjusted the chok and it would only run with it on. I put it back and it would only run with the trottle twisted. then it suddenly went dead and would not start at all. now the battery is dead. got new...

You will need to most likely rebuild the carburator [s] or you have blockage. Try spraying WD 40- in to the intake - if the bike runs poorly but runs - replace the fuel filter. I am not sure where they are on this model but any dealer will direct you to them as they would me. Take down the Vin # - call the local dealer and ask about RECALLS - this can save you thousands over the years - do this on all your vehicles every 6 months or so.
You will need to most likely rebuild the carbs as partial blockage or a dead fuel pump is the problem and the only repair is to replace or rebuild.

Cruise control wont work 1986 cavalcade 1400

Has the clutch safety switch been bypassed? - Does the bike start without the clutch pulled in? if so replace the clutch safety switch, most common cause of the Cruise not working, Remember that you must be in 5th gear, clutch & break levers out, foot off the break pedal, throttle twist grip not below idle - into the spring loaded portion below idle (There is a switch in there to turn the cruise to standby), The cruise switch on the right switch block is on. Any more than this, refer to www.suzukicavalcade.com and join the email group.

Need to know how to set mixtures on small kazuma quad elec start 3spd

The best way is to twist the high speed screw in all the way (do NOT jamb it in - gently screw until it wants to stop), then back it out 1.75 revolutions. Start the motor, and run it under load. Stop, lean it out some by screwing in the mixture screw in 1/4 turn. Try it. If it gets better, repeat until it gets worse and then go back one step. That should be the setting. The same if you chose to richen the mixture by turning the mixture screw OUT 1/4 turn. Repeat and follow the above directions. Going one way or the other is a guess at first, and you hone in for the best performance. For the idle screw, just piddle with it until it sounds good at idle. You should start out at 1.5 turns from closed.

2008 Street Glide - Reduced heat rear cylinder shut-down feature

this is explained in the owners manual. 3 conditions have to be met in order for the Engine Idle Temperature Management System to work. 1. speed must be below 2k/hr 2. engine temp high(exactly what i forget) 3. operator must roll back throttle to negative position until "cruise on" light is green. This indicates that the EITMS is on. Vehicles are delivered from the factory with the EITMS disabled. It can be enabled or disabled by the rider using the following procedure; 1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position and push the engine OFF/RUN switch on the right handlebar to the RUN position(do not start the motorcycle) 2. Push the throttle to the roll-off position and hold 3. After approximately 3 seconds the cruise indicator lamp will either flash green(EITMS enabled) or red (EIMTS disabled) 4. repeat the procedure as needed to enable or disable EITMS
