After a short ride (10 miles or so) and the motorcylcle has been at rest for an hour or so, when I try to restart the engine it will turn over but not start. Most recently I've had the engine just stop running. I try to restart, same thing it turns over, but not ignition? can you help.? Thanks

Welcome to the world of harleys,, I had the same problem,, the dealer explained it to me like this,, they take a ton of amps to crank them over due to the high compression ,, so short rides will lower the voltage to a point it just doesn't have the power to crank it over enough or fast enough to actually start them,, I use a trickle charger on mine now when Its in the garage all week, and make it a point to ride longer with fewer short trips

Engine cuts out

Try this. When you get to work leave the bike running and turn the fuel selector knob to off and let it run til it cuts off. It will drain the fuel from the carbs and trap the rest in the tank. It removes the air bubble in the lines problem so when you get ready to leave, switch the fuel on and wait a few minutes then crank her up and ride.

1992 yamaha waverunner 111 wra650q Runs great until you shut it off or it shuts off? Ok as long as you restart in a few seconds it will fire instantly , if you wait 5 minutes or longer it will turn over...

Not real familiar with waverunners (this is a car and truck section after all), but remember that when you have been riding and stop engine it gets much hotter. Could possibly be coil "Heat Soak", or even a fuel system vapor lock issue caused by a pinhole leak in a line or a bad gas cap. Not very confident in this, but the best I got. Try posting in the waverunner section.

Engine stalls on highway starts after 15 min

Sounds like the same problem I have been having with my 2002 Sedona for
the past 6 or 8 months. It would run OK for several days, weeks, or months,
then just quit. If I let it set for 10 to 20 minutes, it would restart and run fine
for at least the rest of that day. About 2 weeks ago, I was fortunate that it happened when someone was with me, so I was able to determine that it
was not getting any spark. Since then the problem has gotten worse and
more frequent - it was happening almost every day and would take over
1/2 an hour before it would start again. This morning was the last straw.
I drove for about 4 miles and it quit. Took 1 hour and 10 minutes before it
would restart. Drove another 2 miles and did it again. This time it took
1 hour 35 minutes before restart. After 1 more mile, it quit again. Took 2
hours, this time. Made it another mile and BAM! - did it again.
My bro towed me home. I determined that it is most likely NOT the crankshaft position sensor, because 99% of the time they either work,
or they don't. Very rarely does it cause in intermittant problem. The most
likely suspect is the engine computer. That was always a likely culpret
when I worked on GM cars. Today I installed a $50 junk yard engine control computer. I am crossing my fingers!
I will know on Thursday, as I have a 50 mile trip to make.
I will post again on Thursday, to let you all know.

Had a simuliar problem, Bike would have a total shutdown a High Temps/Low Speeds/High RPMs. Everything would reset itself after appox 2 minutes. Everything would shutdown Electric and engine.
2 Harley dealers spent 75 hours diagnosing it, dealer could not reproduce it. Last repair was to replace battery cables. Seems to have fixed it. Have ridden 15oo miles since repair. Problem reacurred once last time I rode. Again complete shutdown bike restored after 2 minutes. Did not happen again the rest of the day over 200 miles
