Pour break fluid in there let it set awhile, poor more in there, it will eat all the corrosion or rust from the rings and piston walls. Eventually freeing it up, hope this helps you.

69,tiger 200. Went to kick start and it's seased up, been setting for 18 month s. Should I poor oil in plug hole and let it set? I know with these type of engines may not be a good idea.

Hey Rick,
i would use a squirt of two things... A good shot of PB Blaster to break it free and the WD40 to aid in wicking around the rings (which is what is really stuck) into the spark plug hole.. and put the plug back in.. wait 24 hrs.. try to kick it,, if not kicking..repeat the spraying...wait 48hrs.. IF the piston is stuck, it will break free.
Once you get it running...change the oil immediately!!!

How to I remove penatrating oil from the cylinder after the piston seized and it was tapped free

With the spark plug out just turn the engine over several times. Excess oil will come out the plug hole. Put the plug back in and start it. It may smoke a little at first then be fine.

1975 TS185 ran a year ago, seems the piston is stuck, took head off, soaked piston, still stuck. Could it be kick starter? Any ideas? Thanks Rich

hi this sounds like it will more than likely be the crank and not the kick start, what you will have to do will be put it in its highest gear ie 5th, then rock the bike back and forth gently till it starts to move, the reason why i say this also could be the clutch plates stuck together unlike a car where there is only one clutch plate in a motorcycle there can be up to 8 plates, try doing this ime sure it will eventually move, also when it does free up, do not start it straight away, if you pull off the ht lead from the spark plug and then turn it over for a bit will be better as this will get the oil circulating slower and better to start, then after about 5 Min's or so of doing this ( make sure battery is fully charged ) you should be able to re-connect the ht lead to the spark plug and attempt to start it as normal...hope this helps please vote thanks

Seized chuck.

I would continue to use the rust remover/penetrating oil products, put a pair of vice grips on the chuck grip and use a hammer to tap the grips. Hopefully this will free it up. It's not very elegant and you probably have already tried similar methods but it's the best idea that I have. Also you could soak the chuck portion in penetrating oil (chuck submerged only) overnight. Good luck!

Kx500 head stuck on

Is the bike locked up? Did the piston melt into the cylinder head?

If so you need to free up the piston to release the cylinder head.

You could try a little penetrating oil on the piston ring area and some heat. Then a wood stake and a mallet with a couple solid hits might unstick the rings.

Of course, after that...the head, rings and probably the piston are all gonna be scrap! Which they are anyway if the melted together right?

This is a link to your bikes online parts list from Kawasaki. You can at least get part numbers for replacements if needed.

Good luck and be careful!

My 1992 Eagle Talon TSi

it is low oil pressure. Mine did the same thing until I switched to 10-w40 motor oil. the thicker oil makes up for the wear in the oil pump. If that doesn.t work, then probably bad pump or main bearing. The main bearing helps regulate oil pressure too
