More than likely, the fuse that controls these two circuits also powers other circuits as well. You can look under the triangular plate on the left side of the bike to find the fuse panel.

To test the neutral light, disconnect the wire from the neutral switch behind the front belt pulley cover. You'll have to remove the rear master cylinder and brake pedal to get the cover off. Find the switch and disconnect the wire. Ground the wire directly to the engine. Turn the ignition switch on, if the light lights up, your switch is bad. If not, then there's a problem either with the wiring or the bulb in the indicator light is blown.

Take the wire off the oil pressure sending unit underneath the right side of the engine and do it the same way. If the light lights a bad sending unit, If the light does not light, it's a wiring problem or a blown indicator.

Good Luck

Engine light is on, oil light is on, hazor light keeps beeping. I have a SAAB 2002 93.

An oil pressure warning light or low gauge reading means one of two things: either your engine has dangerously low oil pressure, or the oil pressure sending unit that triggers the warning light (or operates your gauge) has failed.

My break lights and horn don,t work anymore just went out all of a sudden

Did you check the system fuses? The fuse box is located behind the left side crankcase cover aft of the coolant reservior.

The 15 amp Signal fuse protects the coolant temperature light, the turn signal indicator light, the neutral indicator light, the oil pressure light, horn, brake/taillight, postition light and turn signal light. Basically, if this fuse is blown, your cluster will be inop.

Please let me know if this is helpful.

2006 sporster 1200 lots of valve noise has oil pressure.think it is colasped lifters. what your thoughts.or trouble shooting tips without breaking down the engine

If you're having that much valve noise, you have probably lost oil pressure for some reason. Take your oil filter off the engine and take the spark plugs out. Spin the engine with the starter and watch for oil to pump out of the fitting for the oil filter.

Now, you didn't mention how loud the valve noise was. If you have indeed lost oil pressure to your tappets, the noise will be quite noticable, not just a slight rattling. Your bike will sound like a pea thrasher.

The late model Sportster oil pumps are not like the older models that were so bad about shearing the drive pins. The late model doesn't have the pins. They have flat drive angles on the oil pump shaft. About the only thing that I can think of that would cause a loss of oil pressure on a Sporty is a piece of trash got into the tank and is blocking the inlet to the pump or the pump is air locked for some reason. Unscrew the oil pressure sending unit and spin the engine over long enough to pump out a few ounces of oil.

I've only seen one Evo Sporty lose oil pressure. Someone had tried to stop an oil leak in the oil tank by Creme coating the tank. Creme is designed for a fuel tank, not an oil tank. The coating cannot take the heat of the hot oil, becomes brittle and starts flaking off.

Good Luck

I need to know what the gauge lights mean on my 2002 Honda 954RR i bought it used and didn't get a manual by gauge lights i mean the all the engine warning lights.Thank you in advance.

Should be a neutral light - indicating when you are in neutral, a high beam indicator, turn signal indicator, a oil pressure indicator and maybe a high temp indicator.

I suspect the oil pressure light will be on when the ignition is on but the engine not running - just like in a car. The neutral light ... I use mine as a guide. What I mean is when it is illuminated, I know the lamp works. I am still leary about depending on it 100%, though through the ownership of a 1/2 dozen machines over the past 30+ years, it has not let me down.

There may be other indicaating lights on your motorcycle.

Turn signal lights do not self cancel, BTW, you must press the switch IN to cancel the turn signal.

If you will go to the Honda Riders Club (use your favorite search engine to find it) and join for free, they will let you look at a generic service manual. If you pay the couple buck to join, they will give you access to the service manual for YOUR bike, according to information posted at the web site. You can even download and print the manual if you like.

Good luck with your new bike.
