Ive got an 1988 corvette sometimes it takes 3-7 tries to start whether cold or warm and other times it starts fine and has also stalled out while driving down road

Sounds like it could be a fuel pump or a fuel pressure regulator depending on the engine you have. Usually when it takes more than a second or two of turning it over before it will start means the fuel is going back down the line when not running. This can be because of a leak, not fuel leaking out but air leaking in, the fuel system or it can be as easy and a gas cap not properly venting/letting air into the tank as the tank empties. If it doesn"t let air in the tank, then the fuel that is being pumped out is creating a vaccum and sucking the fuel back into the tank when you shut the car off. Try opening the gas cap and letting some air get in just before you shut the car off. Then if it fires right up next time you know you need to replace the gas cap. If not check for vaccum leaks around the intake. Good luck.

Hi, I have a simplicity brodmoor mower, purchased new in 1994. Recently the mower will run for about 15 minutes and die. I let it rest for a half hr & it starts back up again. I eventually get the lawn...

not saying this is your problem, however i have found this to be a problem in some cases. Because of the time duration that the mower runs then quits, i'd almost have to say (believe this or not ) your gas cap vent may be plugged. As gas leaves the gas tank, air has to replace that space. If air can't get into the tank, then as gas leaves the tank, it creates a vaccume, and shortly, no gas flow. try replacing the gas cap or make a small hole thru the cap so air can get into the tank. I'll be wondering how this works out for you.

The engine stops on about 20 minutes drive...to start...fuel tank has to be opened or else the engine does not start ...same while draining fuel...the flow stops unless the fuel tank cover is opened

Somethings wrong withthe fuel tank cap..the air vent is blocked thus its kinda forming vaccum in the gas tank.
Try to unblock the vent at the fuel cap..or replace the fuel tank cap.
Hope this helps!

Possible vacumn line leak in line to gas tank. where is the line?

The line runs from the purge canister to the fuel tank along the frame, what makes you think you have a leak? any kind of a vaccum leak would make the idle go up in rpm,s or the hvac with blower on would go from where ever you set it to defrost (default setting with no vaccum) if you are just getting a check engine light of small evap leak 99% of the time it the gas cap o-ring worn or cap not tight.

also, the tank must have a vent so a vaccum doesn't build up.the fuel cap should be vented.if not replace the cap.
