You will find that the teeth on the sprocket (front or rear) have gone, look carefully, they will be short and worn out. This will cause clicking on acceleration and the bike will hardly move, not sure about the lack of power, this could be anything from dirty fuel system to worn motor, start by giving it a tune up, spark plugs, leads, fuel filter, have your carburettor cleaned and adjusted, and while you have the spark plugs off you can give it a compression test!!

The rear sprocket looks hood and the clicking is not all the time. The chain is also sagging or getting loose...I have pulled the rear rim back once already to tighten the chain and it's pretty much all the way bAck.. The lack of power almost feels like a clutch.. Of I roll ******* the throttle, it revs but doesn't accelerate then rpms come down and the bike begins to pull. All of this began to happen after I replaced the rear tire. I took the rim off the bike myself and took it to yamaha to swap the tire, then put the rim back on myself. Could I have done something when puttin the rim back on?

Putting the tyre on/off will not affect the power so it is not your fault, it definately sounds like the clutch, worn out. You mention checking the rear sprocket but you do not say anything about the front, i recently had a problem on a quad where the front sprocket looked ok but when i looked at it closely, the teeth were only half the size and when accelerating it would jump over the teeth causing a clicking sound. You say your chain has fully stretched, no adjustment, this is a good time to change both your sprockets and your chain. Im not sure how you check the gearbox oil on your bike but make sure your oil level is full and if your model uses the same oil coming from your engine than make sure it is the correct oil type, wrong oil will cause clutch slipage as well, let me know if i can help with anything else.

I did do an oil change and oil Pan gasket change at the same time as the tire using ya alive and a yamaha oil filter.. Could this be part of the problem? Ran fine prior to pill change

    Yamalube*

  • Ahmet Gunduz May 29, 2011

I am not familiar with the ya alive/yamalube, if you can find out if your gearbox has a separate reservoir or if it uses the same oil from your engine, if it uses the same oil as the engine than you need to make sure you have used the right grade and the wrong grade will definately make the clutches slip, what country are you in???

  • 05blackR1 May 29, 2011

    I'm
In texas. USA. The yamalube is the oil that the yamaha dealership Recommends and sells. I believe it is the same reservoir as the oil.
