Question about Harley Davidson FXDWG Dyna Wide Glide Motorcycles
Are you using 20W50 oil in your bike? If so, your oil pressure is probably fine. Harley engines do not hold a lot of oil pressure because they are built with roller and needle bearings, not shell insert type bearings. Since there is a gap between the contact of the roller bearing, the oil just flows freely though them. As long as your hydraulic tappets are not clattering loudly, you have enough oil pressure. I've seen many oil pressure gauges read zero when the engine is hot and idling. However, if you think your oil pressure is too low, the only thing you can do is to replace the oil pump.
