Question about Harley Davidson XLH Sportster 883 Motorcycles
Follow the clutch cable down until you come to the cable adjuster in the middle of the cable. Slide the boot up or down and loosen the lock nut. Turn the cable adjuster inwards to get as much slack as you can get. Then, remove the derby cover on the primary cover. Take the spring and lock nut out. Turn the clutch adjuster screw as far as it will go counterclockwise. Then turn it back 1/4 turn and reinstall the lock nut, spring, and the derby cover. Go back to the cable adjuster and turn the adjuster outwards until you have about 1/8 inch freeplay in the cable. Squeeze the clutch a few times and recheck the freeplay. If it's correct, tighten the lock nut and replace the protective boot.
