    The solution given was for a Triumph Tiger not a Trophy this throttle lock will not work on my handle bars. When I remove the existing bar weight the threaded part in the end of the bar is flush with the end of the bar leaving no room for an expanding assembly to be inserted into the bar, Any further suggestions.

    I live in Calgary Alberta and had bought a Kaoko from Blackfoot Motor sports but it will not work on these bars so I have returned it.

Revs don't drop quickly enough therefor no engine braking when riding. checked everything and replaced things in carburetors. this problem appeared overnight

Double check the throttle cable to make sure it has play. Same with throttle control and any device you may use to hold throttle in position. Check the Amal carb settings. Check to make sure the engine slows without load.

I need to remove the battery from a 95 trophy 900. Ive looked at the bike and just cant see how to gain access.

Start with the pass seat, key lock to remove, then you will find a small ring to pull which will release the drivers seat, pull back a little, up and out, the battery is under the drivers seat.

Trophy 900

Sounds more to me like you are boiling your fuel and vapor locking. I don't know how that bike is set up, but many bikes have one way vent to prevent fuel from spilling in an accident. Has the bike been apart lately? There is insulation on most bikes to protect the tank from excess heat. If it is removed the fuel actually begin to vaporize in the tank and won feed the carb properly.

It starts ok but when im riding it seems like it some times is running on two cylinders instead of the three i have a 2003 trophy 900

Check for water in the spark plug well.
Probably worth pulling plugs and checking/replacing them.

Intermittant power lose on 1996 tronph trophy 1200. 15000 miles

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

To my knowledge, most bikes of this class would exhibit the problem you posted if they have loose/faulty:
  • RUN or KILL engine switch;
  • side stand switch;
  • or as the mechanic thinks, the CDI.
You can try and verify by simulating the first two possibilities by riding on a straight road at regular speed and with no traffic.
  • Accelerate as you normally would then switch off the RUN; do the same for the side stand, even a slight extend from rest position would kill the engine.
I doubt if it is fuel related as normally, there would be hesitation and starvation before finally stalling.

Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.
