Gas will not flow from tank to motor while running

Everybody had a crack at this problem, another thing would check is these engines sometimes have a primary fuel filter inside the tank itself. Drain the fuel and gently blow compressed air back through fuel line towards tank then rinse the tank out with fuel, refill and try run engine again

I have a polaris snowmobile and it starts up great, idles fine, but after running it about 200 yards or for about 30 mins it dies and wont start up for 10 mins or so. What could cause it to do this,

The problem is the needle valve in your carb is partially clogged. It's not letting enough gas into your carb fast enough. You let it sit for 10 mins and it slowly fills the carb's bowl back up. Then you ride it and it empties the bowl of gas faster than the needle valve can keep it full and the snowmobile dies. Get the carb cleaned and it will fix your problem

2007 kawasaki Ninja 250r Cranks but wont startt

It sounds like the float needle valves are lletting gas run into the bowl,in turn running gas into the motor, and fouling the spark plugs. Have you noticed if the oil level seems to be going UP,or the fuel level is going down? Kawasaki motorcycles are prone to leaking needle valves in the carbs for some reason. And the longer it sits, the worse its going to get.Try this,...pull the spark plugs and see if they are wet with fuel. Then, unhook the coils, and spin the motor over with the plugs out.If it shoots raw fuel about a foot out of each or ANY cylinder, then that is your problem. JUST BE SURE TO DISABLE THE COILS BEFORE SPINNING MOTOR OVER,AND DONT BE CLOSE TO THE PLUG HOLES WHEN YOU SPIN IT OVER!!
Good Luck!

Sounds like you have a float sticking in your carburetor, is this a single carb or a duel carb? , also gas can go stale and your bike will run like **** if it also has been subjected to tank condensation and water in your gas, that also maybe your problem, I would drain the tank and drain the carb or carbs, and start off with fresh gas and would use 89 octane or better, also pickup some StarTron Enzyme gas treatment, it will stabilize your gas for up to 2 years, and remove the ethanol from your gas, that is a bad for your motor, try it you will never go without it. Good luck, Rick.

It sounds like you still have dirt floating around. What did you coat the tank with? I used POR-15 with great results. Install a gas filter that you can see through and see if you are still getting dirt from the tank. Check the new carb for dirt. It sounds like something is somewhat plugged which allows gas to slowly fill your carb after it sits. But this clog is what causes your bike to stop after 5 miles. Does your tank have a shutoff valve? Run a line from the valve to a jar and see how well the gas flows. The shutoff valves usually have a screen....check it for dirt.

81 Suzuki gs650 #2 carb floods gas out after start

The float is stuck open in the leaking carb. Remove the float bowl and clean the carb after removing the pin holding the float in place. While the float is out, shake it to see if gas has gotten inside it. If so, you will need a new float or will need to drain the float then re-solder it to seal it up again. To drain the float chances are you will need to drill a vent hole in it to allow the gas to drain. Just solder the vent closed when done.

sounds like you have a plugged vent either in the gas cap or the vent valve of which you speak. Without the vent working properly, the engine running and drawing gas from the fuel tank causes a vaccum inside the tank making it harder for the fuel to draw to the carburator. this would cause the symptoms that you are talking about.

Replace the gas cap if it is vented or check to see if the vent valve you mention is working properly.

Good Luck

Did you also drain the carbs when you drained the tank? You may have a vacuum controlled fuel valve which won't let the new gas into the carbs. If you can crank the motor long enough it should open and fill the carbs. Otherwise you can **** on the vacuum hose for half a minute and open the valve to fill the carbs that way. If it was sitting for a year or more it will likely need a carb cleaning, but it should run on new gas if it ran on old gas. Also if there is a fuel pump make sure it is working and any filter or screens in the tank fitting or inline that they are not blocked.

hi,says here you had the carbs redone,it sounds to me like the carbs were not rebalanced after installation,if you do any work at all ocn carbs it is quite important that the carbs be properly rebalanced,it only takes very minor adjustments inside carbs(even a scratch on a jet)or different torque settings on screws etc will trow the balance out,if you get this done i think your problem will disappear..hope this helps

Buell blast is backfiring. Sat for 2 years so, cleaned fuel tank and cleaned carb. It will start now but is backfiring and will die of I try to idle. Thanks

If you did not completely disassemble the carb and remove all jets/emulsion tubes/needle valves then you did not clean the carb adequately. You could try adding either Seafoam, the Yamaha CARB-CL-EAN-ER, or Techron fuel system cleaner in an auxiliary gas tank and running the engine for a short while to ensure the mix gets into all the nooks and crannies. Let it sit for a couple hours to do the work, then drain out the float bowl, hook up the bike's gas tank and see what happens. Otherwise you need to remove, strip, clean, reassemble, and reinstall the carb.
