Remove the bolts that hold the caliper onto the brake caliper bracket or the fork slider. Carefully look at the way the pads and any other parts are positioned in the caliper or bracket. Replace these parts and the pads. You must also compress the piston back into the caliper in order to get it back over the new pads. I use either a large C-clamp or a large pair of slip joint pliers to compress the piston completely back into the caliper. Use rags or wood to protect the paint and finish on the caliper. Replace the caliper and replace the bolts that hold it.

Good Luck

Master cylinder 2003 road king

I would
1. Check brake pad thickness.
2. Check brake disk thickness.
3. Check and bleed the brakes, making sure you open and thighten all fittings in that system.
4. When you bleed the brakes, look for a good squirt when you hit the brakes with the top off.
5. If there isnt a squirt, rebuild the master cylinder.

I bet its one of those issues, but, do the easiest first.

Its not your pads min thickness is 0.04..you have air in the lines or a loose fitting. You really need a vacmum suction device to bleed harley brakes not the old auto turn the nut pump the valve routine. Take it to a shop and have it done will only take about 15 min. Maybe someone prior to you mixed dot 4 and dot 5 maybe it fluid just needs to be replaced. but its not your pads the brake fluid makes up for the pad thickness.
